Thursday, December 28th, 2006McLaren, perhaps best known for their ultra fast McLaren F1 car, surprised the world when in 1993 the McLaren F1 took the fastest production car in the world title and held the record for 12 consecutive years. It took a whole 12 years for another car company, the Koenigsegg, to catch up to the F1 and beat it’s world record by a mere 1 mph. To most people, the McLaren F1 is still the king of the road.
