Acura automobiles has been around for 20 years. 2006 is their 20th anniversary of being in business in the Japanese market. Acura is of course known as the first Japanese car automaker to sell a range of luxury performance cars to the United States which it started doing in 1986.

Acura has been big into research and development with their cars, coming up with some intuitive models, designs and technologies only available to the Acura car range. Things like Super Handling All Wheel Drive and Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control have set Acura apart from the mass of other Japanese car manufacturers.

Acura is Honda’s luxury division largely aimed at the brand conscious consumers of America. Acura was formed in 1986 when Honda, like most other Japanese cars at the time, was regarded as a small and cheap car manufacturer. Nowadays Acura has established itself as a luxury-sport car manufacturer with the latest models such as the sporty RSX, TSX and TL, the ultra luxurious RL, the purebred exotic NSX and the mighty sports utility vehicle MDX.
