Car Tyres

August 20th, 2007

Did you know that by making sure that your car tyres are inflated properly, you can reduce your fuel bill and ensure the rubber lasts longer due to fact there is less friction between the rubber compound and the road when the car tyres are correctly inflated. When it comes to 4×4 driving, my personal experience has been that most Michelin car tyres are quite average. My four-wheeled beast swears by Bridgestone, which were purchased from cheap 4×4 tyres.

Car tyres are checked for safety by measuring the tread. They are made of a special and very resilient type of rubber. Car tyres are flat with more surface area, whereas bike tyres are more curved to get us round corners quicker and with more grip. It should go without saying, but if you know that your car tyres are worn, then you need to replace them as soon as you can to prevent an accident. This is important because if the car tyres are very worn, the film of water on the road builds up in front of them and underneath them and actually lifts them off road surface.

Audi - Progression Through Technology

July 15th, 2007

Audi is another in a long history of German automobile makers. The Germans seem to produce car companies at the drop of a hat. Their headquarters are at Ingolstadt, Bavaria. Audi is a wholly owned subsidiary of the famous Volkswagen company. Audi’s catch phrases or slogans are “progression through technology” and “never follow”.

Audi did not have the happiest of beginnings. Audi was first started in 1899 by August Horch and was not called Audi at that time. It was, of course, called Horch Automobiles and the first car rolled off the very primitive production line in 1901.
